The Municipal District of Spirit River is big sky country punctuated with tall grain terminals and oil derriks. It’s a patchwork quilt of yellow canola, golden grain and green feilds dotted with round bale of hay. Massive grain terminals stand proud over the rolling fields, able to process over 800,000 tonnes of grains annually. The Peace River runs through the MD of Spirit River, with a beautiful river campground at Cotilion Park and a historical interpretive park and campground at Dunvegan. Nardam Campground is located just minutes from the Village of Rycroft. A very active Agricultural Society host the annual Rycroft Chuckwagon Races each July.
