“>Fairview, the Heart of the Peace, occupies a corner of the Peace River Country rich in resources, industry, agriculture, education, art, tourism and recreation opportunities. It is ideally located at the junction of three major highways (2, 64A ,732). The Visitor Information Centre, located on Highway 2, is open from May to September. Fairview is a beautiful town, a national winner in community beautification.  Major events include the Peace Classic Wheels Street Spectacular Car Show, Lions Country Music Festival, Fairview Amateur Rodeo and KidsFest in June. Drag Races go on throughout the summer. Visit the Fine Arts Centre to view or purchase unique northern art. History buffs will enjoy the two museums.

The beautiful Cummings Lake Recreation Area, two km north on Highway 732, offers a lovely fishing lake with campground and modern toilet/shower facility, group camping, baseball diamonds, horseshoe pits, playground and the Cummings Lake Trail. This 11 km trail wanders through town, country, golf course, wetlands, boreal forest, play fields, and campground picnic areas.  Fairview Golf Course is a well-established 9-hole course boasting grass greens, pro shop, lounge/restaurant, large veranda with a breathtaking vista of the course, and a campground.  The Fairview Regional Aquatic Centre, located on the GPRC Fairview Campus, provides a competition sized pool, water slide and Jacuzzi. Other recreation facilities in Fairview include the arena, tennis courts, curling rink, ball diamonds and residential parks.

  • “>Grande Prairie Regional College provides post-secondary education in Fairview on one of the most beautiful campuses in Alberta. Take a stroll around the campus and visit the par-three pitch and putt, located by the campus pond. The weight room and racquet courts in the Recreation Center are open to the public. Visitors are welcome.  GPRC – Fairview Campus is home to Canada’s renowned Harley Davidson Technician Progam.

    In Fairview, summer days are long and warm, allowing plenty of time for friendly talk around a kitchen table or outdoor campfire, music, dance and breathing in the clean, fresh air. Enjoy – and come again!
