The North Peace Stampede is held annually on the first weekend of August. The Association started in 1956 and has continued to bring great entertainment to the Peace County since. The stampede is held at the Lac Cardinal Sports Grounds located in the MD of Peace #135 just outside of Grimshaw, Alberta.
Over the years the stampede has had many different aspects to their show from magical half time shows to music performers. There’s also been demolition derby’s held in the past but one thing has always stayed the same.
The North Peace Stampede continues to bring great rodeo entertainment to the peace country. Along with the Canadian Professional Cowboys Association and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, the NPSA draws professional cowboys and cowgirls of all calibers to compete as they strive to make it to the Canadian Finals Rodeo in Red Deer.
Alongside of the Pro rodeo are the thoroughbred chuckwagons which have been a big part of the North Peace Stampede over the years. While being absent for some years they continue to be a crowd pleaser to this day. You can still find these wagons thundering around the track in the evening following the afternoon performance.
And of course there’s the West Coast Amusements Midway which everybody of all ages enjoy when there’s a break in the action in the rodeo arena.
