The Shaftesbury boat launch is located at the Shaftesbury ferry crossing approximately 29km southwest of the town of Peace River. Boaters can access the beautiful Peace River at this location on the well -maintained gravel launch. The Strong Creek Park boat launch and the Town of Peace River can be found down stream from this location. Head up the river and you will find the Peace Valley Guest Ranch and Peace River Cabins and Outdoors who welcome guests to stay at their riverside resorts. Explore a bit further up the river and you will see the Elk Island camping area, continue on to experience the awe-inspiring sight of the Dunvegan Bridge. Camping is available in the Shaftsbury area just across the river at Tangent Park.

Rendez-Vous RV Park is a fully-serviced year-round park located just a few minutes east of Peace River off the junction of highway 2 and 688, offering 30 or 50 amp power in our 57 pull through and 50 spacious back-in stalls.  We pride ourselves in our clean restrooms/showers as well as our new coin-operated laundry facility that is open 24/7 for your convenience.  All stalls include picnic tables and complimentary Wi-Fi. As well a variety of our back in stalls have fire pits. We offer daily, weekly or monthly rates and are a pet-friendly facility.  Our office also features a convenience store with an ever-growing inventory of U-Haul supplies, groceries, ICE CREAM, firewood, propane and items for your RV.

A short 8km drive from Peace River, along the scenic Shaftsbury Trail will bring you to Strong Creek Park boat launch area. Start your river adventure here or come ashore and take a break -camping spots are free. There are outhouses, water and a sheltered kitchen to make your stop comfortable. The Town of Peace River is down stream from this launch and the Shaftesbury ferry launch site is up stream. The launch is a well-maintained gravel area perfect for launching river boats as well as canoes, kayaks and rafts. Opportunities are endless for adventure on the mighty Peace River.

This camping and recreation area, is a true hidden gem just north of the Town of Fairview.  This beautiful recreation area is quiet and cozy, and features a small lake as well as group and individual camping spots tucked into a lush forested area.  Keep everyone entertained with a variety of activities available in the area.  Canoe, kayak or paddle board on the lake and watch for the many species of birds that also enjoy the water!   Walk, jog or run on the 11km of trails that connect the area with the Town of Fairview as well as the Fairview Golf Course. Watch for wildlife that is often spotted near the trail!  There are horse shoe pits and a play ground available for visitors as well.  During your stay take a stroll over to the Fairview Pioneer Museum that is adjacent to the campground and learn about the early settlers of the area.   The area also features ball diamonds and soccer fields.  After a busy day of fun, relax around a cozy campfire and enjoy a spectacular Peace Country sunset!

Winter Cross Country Skiing:

The trailhead can be reached by following a lane north from the intersection of 108 Ave and 108 St. This short lane leads to a parking lot.  From the parking lot users pass through a pass through opening in the fence, across the plowed paved walking path to find the cross country ski trail a few metres away.

Cummings Lake Ski Trail

Located off Highway 35 in Dixonville. Kitchen shelter, RV station, showers, laundry, playground.

The Lac Cardinal boat launch gives water lovers access to this calm and inviting northern lake.The launch is a well-maintained paved launch. The lake offers endless hours of activity –paddle boarding, canoeing and kayaking to name a few. Tubing, water skiing and wake boarding area is a great way to spend a sunny Peace Country day at this lake. Stay awhile at the camping area and check out the Lac Cardinal Pioneer Village Museum and the North Peace Rodeo grounds which are a short walk away. Located 8km northwest of the Town of Grimshaw on Township Road 833A off Highway 35.

Community Park and Campground, the bouncy pillow at Cecil Thompson Park has fast become a landmark in the community of Northern Sunrise County. In addition to the bouncy pillow the park features; challenging outdoor exercise equipment, a wonderful fishing pond, a beautiful gazebo and a walking bridge. Canoes, kayaks and river boats can access the river from the well-maintained gravel boat launch found at Pratt’s Landing campsite. Located along the Peace River downstream from Carter’s Camp boat launch and upstream from Dunvegan bridge, this is a great spot to start a day’s exploration on the river or take a break from a river adventure and stop in for a rest and a picnic. Care to stay longer in this beautiful spot? Choose from one of 15 overnight camping sites equipped with fire pits and picnic tables. Non-potable water, outdoor toilet facilities and firewood is also available for visitors. Pratt’s Landing can be found 32km west of Fairview on highway 682.
