BMX racing is a popular sport in Peace River  and continues to grow. The Peace River BMX Track is a Town-owned facility that is open every day during daylight hours for the public to use. There is no charge to use the track; however, all users are encouraged  to wear appropriate safety gear, including a certified bicycle helmet. All users ride at their own risk. The BMX track offers jumps, turns and is well maintained. The track is used by beginners to experienced BMX riders.

Try out the custom built Curtis Marshall Memorial Skate Park in the Town of Peace River. The park is located on the west side of 101 Street, between 101 Avenue and 102 Avenue in the Town of Peace River. The park features unique obstacles with lots of transition that gives this park a variety of features that is suitable for everyone’s skill level. The park is free and open to any skateboarders, BMX riders, push scooters and inline skaters. 

It can be difficult to stay focused on the game when your surroundings are so stunning, but the Heart River Golf Course offers plenty of challenging play to keep you into the game. This golf course is a challenging nine hole course located on the scenic Heart River just East of Nampa. Features a driving range, pro shop and clubhouse. There is one of the best patios in the Mighty Peace overlooking the beautiful golf course’s lush greens and majestic scenery. 

Looking to stay and play?

You can stay at the Lions campground just below the first tee box. A perfect place to stay on tournament weekends, or just to relax with friends. Surrounded by trees and wildlife, their camp ground makes a wonderful retreat. The Campground has 13 serviced lots with power, water, fire pits and picnic tables. There is a wood bin close by and firewood is included. All of the sites are cosily nestled into the trees to maximize privacy for our campers.

Its location adjacent to the campground makes it the perfect spot for your family reunion, staff function or a get together with friends.

There is a rental fee of $40.00 to rent the kitchen.

Kids bouncing off the walls, and you need to get them OUTSIDE?

The Riverview Playground is located in the Town of Peace River and is great for children 5 to 12 years of age. Pack a cooler and let the kids imaginations run wild at the Riverview Park. There is a large green space and picnic tables set up for you to create the ultimate picnic.

Mill Brown Park is located in the Village of Nampa. The Village of Nampa is a quaint little town that is home to almost 400 of the friendliest Albertans. The park is walking distance to a restaurant called Farmers Restaurant. This restaurant has a very unique dining experience with delicious Canadian inspired food. The Nampa and District Museum is walking distance as well. At the Museum you can explore the legendary Mighty Peace, from the fur trade to modern times, through the exhibits at the museum.

Mill Brown Park has 6 paved stalls, power hookups, water supply, playground, tennis court, ball diamonds, hiking trails to the Heart River and a RV Dump.

Cool off and have fun on warm summer days at the Fairview Splash Park!  Featuring several fun and exciting water features, kids of all ages will have hours of entertainment.  Located beside the Skate Park and across from the Bowling Alley, this is an awesome community area to be active and have fun with the whole family! There is also lots of wide open space for picnics and free play!

The Fairview Skate Park offers an outdoor community space for recreational activity.   This awesome space encourages youth to be outside and engage in physical activity. The park offers various features for skate and BMX play as well as lots of wide open space for picnics and free play!

There is nothing better than getting your basket in gear and heading out to a grassy escape for a feast!

The Twelve Foot Davis Events Park is a hidden gem tucked away downtown, along the shores of the Heart River. This is a great location to roast hot dogs with a river valley view, toss a ball, have a romantic dinner and watch the sunset or simply for a picturesque walk. This is one of the best outdoor concert venues in the Mighty Peace. The shape of the hill surrounding the park makes a natural amphitheater it has made this location a prime choice for large events such as Peacefest a iconic annual music festival. 

Community Park and Campground, the bouncy pillow at Cecil Thompson Park has fast become a landmark in the community of Northern Sunrise County. In addition to the bouncy pillow the park features; challenging outdoor exercise equipment, a wonderful fishing pond, a beautiful gazebo and a walking bridge. A perfect location to spend the day or spend the night at one of the 5 unserviced lots, available first come first serve at no charge.
