The Peace River Agricultural Society grounds consist of 2 outdoor riding arenas (250′ x 250′ and 125′ x 225′), 3 indoor barns with a total of 40 stalls, 1 outdoor barn with 10 stalls, a Quonset with a stage for bands or dj’s, and a  200 person capacity hall with commercial kitchen, bathrooms and showers, 80 acres of field and trails, camping with 10amp power. It should be noted that horse boarding is only offered during events.

Peace River’s central park, situated next to the idyllic Peace River and quaint downtown.

Riverfront Park offers a number of opportunities year-round. During the summer it is a busy place with events taking place, a large gazebo and access to power help to make this a great cornerstone of outdoor community events. There’s also a walking path, picnic tables, boat launch access, fishing and, a playground for children and each Canada Day the park hosts the Town’s celebrations and fireworks. In the winter the parks stays vibrant with over 1000 Christmas lights. Each year in November a celebration, Light Up the Park, is held to celebrate the lighting of the park, it features skating, hot chocolate, food, and fireworks. The Town of Peace River also maintains a rink in the park through the winter making for some great outdoor skating.

Leddy Lake is a quiet and peaceful camping area located 24km northwest of Peace River on Highway 743, near Weberville.  Campers can expect very private sites with lots of fire wood available.  Electrical hookups, kitchen shelters and water are available to campers.  Launch your boat and enjoy beautiful sunsets and viewing the many birds and animals living in the area.  While there is no fishing, visitors can enjoy horseshoes, hiking, canoeing and kayaking.  Families visiting here can enjoy a great park for kids as well as a nice sandy area for hours of entertainment.  

In the winter the fun doesn’t stop. Enjoy a sparkling and crisp winter’s day on a sled trail that starts with a scenic loop at Leddy Lake and runs 40km north to the area of Driftwood Lake near Deadwood.  

This camping and recreation area, is a true hidden gem just north of the Town of Fairview.  This beautiful recreation area is quiet and cozy, and features a small lake as well as group and individual camping spots tucked into a lush forested area.  Keep everyone entertained with a variety of activities available in the area.  Canoe, kayak or paddle board on the lake and watch for the many species of birds that also enjoy the water!   Walk, jog or run on the 11km of trails that connect the area with the Town of Fairview as well as the Fairview Golf Course. Watch for wildlife that is often spotted near the trail!  There are horse shoe pits and a play ground available for visitors as well.  During your stay take a stroll over to the Fairview Pioneer Museum that is adjacent to the campground and learn about the early settlers of the area.   The area also features ball diamonds and soccer fields.  After a busy day of fun, relax around a cozy campfire and enjoy a spectacular Peace Country sunset!

Cool off and have fun on warm summer days at the Millennium Splash Park!  Located beside the Millennium Playground and the High School this is an awesome community area to be active and have fun with the whole family.

Strong Creek Park has a little something for everyone. Strong Creek Park is a municipal park located on the Peace River mouth of Strong Creek, 8 km south of the Town of Peace River, Alberta on Shaftesbury Trail. Set up camp or spend the day out at the park. Camping spots are rustic and free to the public. There are washrooms, water and a sheltered kitchen for campers. The park is a short stroll to the Peace River. Where you can spend the day sunbathing, paddling or fishing. There are picnic tables set up for day use, a fantastic park for the kiddos and scenic hiking trails throughout the park. This is the perfect place to unwind and escape reality.

Take a short drive southwest of Fairview to discover the Fairview Ski Hill with its beautiful views of the Hines Creek coulee. Say goodbye to lift lines and hello to 100% natural snow, Fairview Ski Hill is the perfect place to bring your family to play this winter. With 20,000ft of groomed runs, 4 lifts (beginner to expert) and a diverse terrain park, there is plenty of skiing and snowboarding for everyone to enjoy. The Fairview ski hill is equipped with the best rental selection in the region, a full concession and a great view of the hill from the comfort of the chalet. The Manning Three Battle Skate Park offers an outdoor community space for recreational activity.   This awesome space encourages youth to be outside and engage in physical activity. The park is near the walking trail as well as a playground which will make it a popular spot for kids of all ages!
