This playground is near the beach area of beautiful George Lake campground. Some great play equipment is in place to entertain young visitors for hours. The lake offers many activities that kids will love. The entire family can enjoy a hike and a picnic here as well. A gorgeous Peace Country sunset seen across the lake will end the day with a smile. The Town of Peace River offers 17km of paved walking trails and 80.9 hectares of nicely mowed green space just waiting to be enjoyed. Grab your bike, run, jog or walk and enjoy these scenic and well-maintained areas. Summer months offer five fastball/slo-pitch diamonds, two baseball diamonds, two soccer pitches, two football fields, two tennis courts, 4 pickleball courts, 13 playgrounds, two larger parks (12 Foot Davis and Riverfront Park), as well as an off-leash dog park. The winter months offer an excellent opportunity to enjoy two sliding hills, five outdoor hockey rinks and two skating areas

Enjoy beautiful Lac Cardinal while camping in the Lac Cardinal Recreation Area. This area is located adjacent to the Queen Elizabeth Provincial Park on the eastern shore of Lac cardinal. Drive 5 miles northwest of the Town of Grimshaw on Township Road 833A off Highway 35 to reach this 16 site campground. Enjoy fire pits, playground and a camp kitchen. No hookups or showers available.

This is a really great location to enjoy many activities! The lake offers endless hours of activity – paddle boarding, canoeing and kayaking to name a few! There is a nearby boat launch for those wishing to enjoy tubing or water skiing. The Lac Cardinal Pioneer Village Museum as well as the rodeo grounds can easily be accessed on foot from the campground. The North Peace Stampede is held at these rodeo grounds each summer!

There is a large hall available to rent from the municipality – great for family reunions or any function!

BMX racing is a popular sport in Peace River  and continues to grow. The Peace River BMX Track is a Town-owned facility that is open every day during daylight hours for the public to use. There is no charge to use the track; however, all users are encouraged  to wear appropriate safety gear, including a certified bicycle helmet. All users ride at their own risk. The BMX track offers jumps, turns and is well maintained. The track is used by beginners to experienced BMX riders.

Looking for some active fun for the whole family? This campground is a hidden gem in the Peace Region and offers a really great playground near a quiet calm lake. After playing on the play equipment, grab your floaty toys and cool off in the water then warm up again while roasting some marshmallows over a crackling fire. Searching for a back to nature experience?  Head out to the Wilderness Park located approximately 11km west of Peace River; the path into the area is as beautiful as the park itself! This day use area has picnic tables, fire pits, outhouses and man-made ponds to enjoy! Swimming is not allowed but fishing enthusiasts bring your fishing rods as the ponds are stocked with rainbow trout and grayling!  There are docks to fish from and to launch your canoe, kayak or paddle board.  Hiking trails abound in the area, part of which include the Trans Canada Trail!  Bring your binoculars and enjoy some bird watching, this area is abundant with wildlife.  A crackling campfire is the perfect end to a day of fun at Wilderness Park!  Please reduce visitor’s impact on the park by taking your garbage home with you. Try out the custom built Curtis Marshall Memorial Skate Park in the Town of Peace River. The park is located on the west side of 101 Street, between 101 Avenue and 102 Avenue in the Town of Peace River. The park features unique obstacles with lots of transition that gives this park a variety of features that is suitable for everyone’s skill level. The park is free and open to any skateboarders, BMX riders, push scooters and inline skaters.

This museum offers a playground with a great choice of play equipment for children and tots. A day of adventure can be had here, kids can step back in time while checking out the museum and then jump on their skate board to try out the two half pipes at the nearby skate park. The Riverview Playground is located in the Town of Peace River and is great for children 5 to 12 years of age. Pack a cooler and let the kids imaginations run wild at the Riverview Park. There is a large green space and picnic tables set up for you to create the ultimate picnic.

Located in the heart of Hines Creek, this spray park and playground have a great selection of play equipment for little visitors to choose from. This cozy, private, 49 site camp ground in the Twin Lakes Provincial Park is located 65 km north of Manning. Twin Lakes Provincial Park is named for the two lakes neighboring one another within the park.  A smaller lake where the camp ground is located and a larger one accessible to visitors on foot.    Campers arriving at the park will see a modern playground located in the central part of the park as well as the self registration area and washrooms nearby.  After settling into a private well treed site, fishing enthusiasts can launch an electric motor boat on to the lake or cast their line from the dock and enjoy fishing for trout!  A modern fish cleaning station makes it easy to prep the day’s catch!  Canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding as well as swimming will provide hours of enjoyment for campers of all ages!  A small sandy beach on the lake shore offers even more fun!  After a day of exciting activities, absorb the serenity of this beautiful area and the abundant wildlife that make their home here while hiking the walking trail around the first lake to the second lake.  This scenic trail was constructed by a Junior Forest Ranger Crew in 1997 and is approximately 3km in length.  Enjoy all the seasons in this area and experience a beautiful northern winter day in the park while ice fishing!

The Twelve Foot Davis Events Park is a hidden gem tucked away downtown, along the shores of the Heart River. This is a great location to roast hot dogs with a river valley view, toss a ball, have a romantic dinner and watch the sunset or simply for a picturesque walk. This is one of the best outdoor concert venues in the Mighty Peace. The shape of the hill surrounding the park makes a natural amphitheater it has made this location a prime choice for large events such as Peacefest a iconic annual music festival.

Get outside for some fun and active play at Baldwin Court Playground. Built by the Baldwin Court Playground Society in 2000, this Play World System equipment, built on a pea gravel surface, will provide entertainment for kids ages 5-12 years of age. Plenty of space to run and even enjoy a picnic.

Mill Brown Park is located in the Village of Nampa. The Village of Nampa is a quaint little town that is home to almost 400 of the friendliest Albertans. The park is walking distance to a restaurant called Farmers Restaurant. This restaurant has a very unique dining experience with delicious Canadian inspired food. The Nampa and District Museum is walking distance as well. At the Museum you can explore the legendary Mighty Peace, from the fur trade to modern times, through the exhibits at the museum.
