A truly beautiful area for families to enjoy some fun activities. There are two camping areas, the boat launch area and the main camping area ,both have great playgrounds. Each area is situated right beside the mighty Peace River. These parks offer some great play equipment including swings. Bring a picnic and a fishing rod to round out the day’s experience. Plenty of space for active fun. Lucky visitors may see some of the wildlife that frequent this area. Carters Camp can be found 25km west of Hines Creek on highway 685. This welcoming playground nestled amongst some beautiful large trees offers a space to enjoy a day of play. Climb, slide and run in this playground. The Little Tikes play equipment was installed in 2005 on a protective surface of pea gravel and offers activities to kids that are 2 to 5 years of age.

Enjoy beautiful Lac Cardinal while camping in the Lac Cardinal Recreation Area. This area is located adjacent to the Queen Elizabeth Provincial Park on the eastern shore of Lac cardinal. Drive 5 miles northwest of the Town of Grimshaw on Township Road 833A off Highway 35 to reach this 16 site campground. Enjoy fire pits, playground and a camp kitchen. No hookups or showers available.

This is a really great location to enjoy many activities! The lake offers endless hours of activity – paddle boarding, canoeing and kayaking to name a few! There is a nearby boat launch for those wishing to enjoy tubing or water skiing. The Lac Cardinal Pioneer Village Museum as well as the rodeo grounds can easily be accessed on foot from the campground. The North Peace Stampede is held at these rodeo grounds each summer!

There is a large hall available to rent from the municipality – great for family reunions or any function!

BMX racing is a popular sport in Peace River  and continues to grow. The Peace River BMX Track is a Town-owned facility that is open every day during daylight hours for the public to use. There is no charge to use the track; however, all users are encouraged  to wear appropriate safety gear, including a certified bicycle helmet. All users ride at their own risk. The BMX track offers jumps, turns and is well maintained. The track is used by beginners to experienced BMX riders.

This campground’s play area is great place for kids to explore and stretch their legs. Tucked alongside the beautiful Clear River, kids can find a great selection of play equipment as well as trails to explore. Round out a day of active fun by roasting a hot dog over an open fire. Located just 13km Southwest of the Cleardale Store on highway 64. For information call 780-835-9403.

Pack up a picnic and head out to the Spruce Court Playground and plan on a fun and sunshine filled day of outdoor activity. The Little Tykes play equipment was installed in 2002 on a protective pea gravel surface, will appeal to children of 5 –12 years of age.

Searching for a back to nature experience?  Head out to the Wilderness Park located approximately 11km west of Peace River; the path into the area is as beautiful as the park itself! This day use area has picnic tables, fire pits, outhouses and man-made ponds to enjoy! Swimming is not allowed but fishing enthusiasts bring your fishing rods as the ponds are stocked with rainbow trout and grayling!  There are docks to fish from and to launch your canoe, kayak or paddle board.  Hiking trails abound in the area, part of which include the Trans Canada Trail!  Bring your binoculars and enjoy some bird watching, this area is abundant with wildlife.  A crackling campfire is the perfect end to a day of fun at Wilderness Park!  Please reduce visitor’s impact on the park by taking your garbage home with you. Try out the custom built Curtis Marshall Memorial Skate Park in the Town of Peace River. The park is located on the west side of 101 Street, between 101 Avenue and 102 Avenue in the Town of Peace River. The park features unique obstacles with lots of transition that gives this park a variety of features that is suitable for everyone’s skill level. The park is free and open to any skateboarders, BMX riders, push scooters and inline skaters.
