Situated alongside the Kimiwan Lake Bird Walk, this rustic and informative museum is constructed with 70-year-old rough cut lumber from a local saw mill and depicts life from the early 1900’s. Visitors will feel like they’re walking back in time as they go through each room and browse the historical artifacts that have been collected. Outside, guests will be able to look upon and experience a caboose which was a part of the last passenger train of the rail line. Informative and fun, this museum is perfect for families and individuals who want to appreciate the history that McLennan encompasses. 5. McLennan Municipal Kimiwan Campground
This beautifully constructed campground has 18 sites, 12 of which come with power. Washrooms and showers are available, as well as free firewood, picnic tables, fire pits, a fish pond, and a shelter with a cook stove. There’s also a fun playground for younger visitors which features a wooden train playset that’s bound to get imaginations going. This campground is walking distance to the Kimiwan Bird Walk, Railway Museum, Golf Course and grocery store, so it’s the perfect place to set up camp and enjoy the local amenities.
