Carnaval De St. Isidore


Carnaval de St. Isidore returns from February 14 to 16, 2025, bringing the vibrant spirit of “Le Réveillon” to the St. Isidore Cultural Centre! This beloved festival is a joyous celebration of Francophone culture, offering a weekend of lively festivities and cherished traditions.


The festivities kick off during the week with engaging activities for Francophone and French Immersion students from kindergarten to grade 6, featuring games, entertainment, sleigh rides, singing, and classic snow toffee treats. The weekend promises excitement for all ages, with live music, a crib tournament, intricate snow sculptures, hands-on workshops, cozy bonfires, and more. You’ll be able to indulge in authentic French-Canadian cuisine, such as some mouth-watering poutine, and explore the fun of tobogganing, food booths, plus so many other winter activities.


Saturday night comes alive with a spirited dance, complete with beer gardens and live music to keep the party going. The celebrations conclude Sunday with a heartfelt Sunday Mass and a warm community breakfast, leaving everyone inspired by the charming traditions of this cultural gem.

Alberta Pond Hockey Championships


Experience the thrill of classic Canadian hockey at the Alberta Pond Hockey Championships, held from March 7 to 9, 2025, at the picturesque Lac Cardinal Recreation Area. This iconic event transforms the frozen expanse of Lac Cardinal Lake into a hockey haven, with 15 rinks hosting teams from across Canada. Compete or cheer on players in divisions ranging from Competitive, Recreational, and Old Timers to Women’s and Juniors, showcasing talent and sportsmanship in every game.


The excitement extends beyond hockey, with a weekend full of family-friendly activities. Watch or join in on stick curling, ringette, dog sledding, ice skating, and the adrenaline-pumping ATV and dirt bike ice races. While you’re there, explore the stunning Lac Cardinal Provincial Park, where you can snowshoe, gather around a cozy fire, or let the kids enjoy the playgrounds.
In between watching hockey and exploring the area, take a break in the heated tent on the lake, complete with beer gardens, food vendors, and steaming hot chocolate to keep you warm.
