1. Sledding
If you love snowmobiling, be sure to check out the 50 km of breathtaking backcountry on this groomed trail starting at the Village of Hines Creek. This is one of several trails maintained and groomed by Peace Valley Snow Riders Association (PVSR) members and volunteers. The Canfor Hines Creek Trail is the only one on the network connected to a community where sledders can go for fuel, food, and a sled shop for repairs. PVSR has a network of four trails. 2. Hines Creek Walking Trail
Located just west of the Village of Hines Creek, this scenic 1 km walking path will make you feel like you are miles away from civilization. The trail is nestled among beautiful, lush trees dense bush and features a walking bridge stretching across a cattail lined marsh. Thanks to Canfor and the Village of Hines Creek Public Works staff, this trail is regularly maintained and can be enjoyed all year round.
3. Skating
Take advantage of the winter season and enjoy this fantastic facility located in the heart of the Village of Hines Creek. The Dave Shaw Memorial Arena is the perfect place to lace up your skates for a leisurely skate or an invigorating shinny match. Drop-in skating and drop-in shinny are free of charge every Sunday afternoon, thanks to the generosity of the Village of Hines Creek Agriculture Society. Dave Shaw Memorial Arena is a treasured hub of the community and also houses a fitness center, community hall and kitchen, skating and hockey rink and also offers skate sharpening.
4. Adventure Park
Nestled in the heart of the warm and welcoming Village of Hines Creek, the Hines Creek Adventure Park is your all-season destination for outdoor fun and family-friendly excitement! This growing park will soon feature a thrilling BMX bike track and a brand-new frisbee golf course—perfect for adventure seekers of all ages. There’s plenty of open green space for free play, as well as fire pits, picnic tables, and benches that make it easy to relax, connect, and enjoy the fresh air.
In the winter, the park transforms into a snowy playground with a popular sliding hill and an outdoor skating rink. Cozy up around the firepits to roast hotdogs and marshmallows or simply warm your hands after a day of chilly fun. Whether you’re planning a summer picnic or a winter outing, the Hines Creek Adventure Park is the perfect place to make memories in every season!
5. Exercise
Create some winter warmth by getting a good workout at the Rodney Bjornson Fitness Centre at the Dave Shaw Memorial Arena. In addition to the fitness center, there is also an indoor walking track, basketball nets, and ping pong tables.
