Peace River Boat Launches 

Whether you’re beginning or ending your river journey or just stopping in for a rest and a picnic, the Town of Peace River offers two handy boat launches. The Lower West Peace Launch is found on the west side of the Peace River just off of Shaftesbury Trail in the lower west region of the town.   The launch typically has porta potties and a floating dock installed by the Peace River Boating Association....

Dunvegan Boat Launch

Dunvegan’s boat launch can be found on the south side of the Peace River, road access begins on the west side of the Dunvegan bridge entrance. Parking can be found just above the boat launch area. This well-maintained gravel boat launch is situated on a narrow spot of the river where the water runs deep....

Pratt’s Landing Boat Launch

Figure Eight Lake

Figure Eight Lake Provincial Recreation Area is located 40 kilometers northwest of Peace River on Highway 737 in the County of Northern Lights. Figure Eight Lake takes its name from the shape it had before 1970 when the water level was low, in these earlier days the lake had two basins and resembled a figure eight. The area offers a beautiful, rustic, family friendly, lakeshore campground which has many activities to offer....

Sulphur Lake

  Sulphur Lake recreation area is a cozy campground tucked into the beautiful forested shoreline of Sulphur Lake. To reach Sulphur Lake, head north on Highway 35 from Grimshaw approximately 40km to Dixonville then turn west on secondary highway 689 for about 22 km then north on range road 260 and follow signs for about 40 km. Tranquility is ensured in this un-serviced campground offering 16 sites....
