Begin your get away with the relaxing and scenic drive to Sulphur Lake Provincial Recreation area. This well forested campground is tucked into the shore of Sulphur Lake. Bring your own firewood and drinking water and relax around a crackling fire in one of the un-serviced sites. Campers of all ages will be entertained for hours canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming on the calm friendly waters of Sulphur Lake. Fishing enthusiasts can use the hand launch for electric motor boats and the fish cleaning station. The lake is aerated to ensure theyear-roundsurvival of the stocked trout population. Kids will enjoy the park and playground adjacent to the campground. RV dumping station also available. Northern Alberta’s crisp clear winters can be enjoyed on and around our lakes while ice fishing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

Sulphur Lake is 30 km Northeast of Hines Creek. Campground is open mid May to Mid September.

Looking for some active fun for the whole family? This campground is a hidden gem in the Peace Region and offers a really great playground near a quiet calm lake. After playing on the play equipment, grab your floaty toys and cool off in the water then warm up again while roasting some marshmallows over a crackling fire. A day of adventure can be had here, kids can step back in time while checking out the museum and then jump on their skate board to try out the two half pipes at the nearby skate park. Get outside for some fun and active play at Baldwin Court Playground. Built by the Baldwin Court Playground Society in 2000, this Play World System equipment, built on a pea gravel surface, will provide entertainment for kids ages 5-12 years of age. Plenty of space to run and even enjoy a picnic.

Grab a picnic and plan on enjoying an afternoon at Riverside Playground. Built in 2013 this park features Elephant Play equipment built on a pea gravel surface. The rotating mid net and arch swing will provide 6-12- year-old kids with lots of excitement.

Slides, monkey bars and swings are just a few of the fun choices of Little Tykes play equipment at Shaftesbury Playground. This equipment was installed in 2019 on a pea gravel base. Lots of space to run and enjoy the fresh air. Bring snacks and enjoy the day.

This large, two-part playground offers many choices of activities. Swing, jump, climb, dig and run to your hearts content. The Henderson play equipment, built in 2018, sits atop washed pea gravel. The junior play structure accommodates visitors of 18 months to 5 years. The senior play structure offers activities to impress the 5 to 12-yearolds. Check out the view and savor a picnic here at this park, there is plenty space to enjoy.

Tucked into a quiet neighborhood, the Lower West Peace Playground is a welcoming spot for families, friends, and neighbors to gather. Built in 2005 on a pea gravel base, it features Romperland, Big Toys, and Kompan play equipment that keeps children ages 2–12 active and entertained. With plenty of open space to run, play games, or enjoy a picnic, it’s a favorite destination for families.

In the warmer months, the park also becomes a hub for recreation with 4 well-lit outdoor hard courts designed for pickleball. The courts are marked with permanent lines, and while players bring their own nets, there’s no charge to play—making it one of the most accessible pickleball spots in the Peace Region.

Climbing is the name of the game at this playground. The Xccent Play Large Cayton climber unit structure was installed in 2012 on a protective sand surface. Enjoy the beautiful view here on one of the handy benches or bring a picnic and stay a while.
