If you’re looking for something more relaxing – take a stroll down the scenic river side pathways to nearby Dunvegan Gardens for some shopping, mini golf and ice cream! Be sure to stop in at the Historic Dunvegan interpretive centre that is right next door. Explore the region’s history and take a guided tour of the historic buildings still standing in their original spots!
Photo opportunities abound in this beautiful area. This is a great spot to view Dunvegan bridge which is Alberta’s longest vehicle suspension bridge! The Maples Day Use area can be found a short hike up river and offers a beautiful spot for picnickers. The South side of the river has a boat launch for boaters wanting to explore the river. The park is open May 1st to October 15th.

Campers will also find a shelter with a cook stove, washrooms, showers, sewage disposal, town water and free firewood are all available to make their stay more comfortable. Electrical hookups, kitchen shelters and water are available to campers. Launch your boat and enjoy beautiful sunsets and viewing the many birds and animals living in the area. While there is no fishing, visitors can enjoy horseshoes, hiking, canoeing and kayaking. Families visiting here can enjoy a great park for kids as well as a nice sandy area for hours of entertainment.
In the winter the fun doesn’t stop. Enjoy a sparkling and crisp winter’s day on a sled trail that starts with a scenic loop at Leddy Lake and runs 40km north to the area of Driftwood Lake near Deadwood.
