The lake is stocked with rainbow trout each spring providing some great year-round fishing. If you’re looking for the perfect venue for a special event, consider booking the beautiful log hall that can accommodate up to 75 people. The surrounding grounds have been planted with various fruit trees and provide abundant and picturesque spaces for activities and fun.  Entertaining events hosted here each year include a fishing derby and a music festival. This is also a great spot to visit in the winter months to enjoy some ice fishing. Firepits are available near the lake to warm up and cook a tasty campfire snack!Â
Kakut Lake is located in beautiful Birch Hills County, southwest of Wanham. Head south from Wanham on Highway 733 for 14km then turn west onto Highway 677 and travel 9km and then turn north onto Range Road 42A.Â

Dreamers Lake Campground, located 3.2km west of Wanham on Highway 49 and then 3.9km south on Range Road 35, is a great place to enjoy nature at it’s best. 24 powered and unpowered sites offer a great selection of spots for visitors to enjoy beautiful lake views. Water, a sanitation station and fire wood are all available for purchase. Showers and bathrooms are also conveniently located for campers. The long summer days and spacious areas of the Mighty Peace are a great place to make some amazing memories. Families and friends can enjoy the gazebo, playground and horseshoe pits all day long and paddlers often see a great selection of wild birds and animals while enjoying the calm waters of this pristine lake. This is a great staging area for explorers to set up camp and access the trail system that is nearby.
Dreamers Lake Campground is open from May until October.
Seasonal Sites are also available.Â

Only 24 km south of Peace River the Tangent Park Campground offers full hook ups, kitchen shelter, group picnic area, group camping area, tenting area, horse watering stations, concession, showers, hiking trails, horseshoes, playground, and fishing. This campground is the perfect staging area for trail users to stay and enjoy the area. Tangent Park can be accessed via the Shaftsbury Trail (Highway 684) and a free ride on the Shaftsbury ferry or via Highway 740 running north from the Hamlet of Tangent.
