J4 Performance was created in 2020 to provide fitness solutions for the people of Spirit River and the surrounding area. We stay true to current research, which allows us to offer a better approach to functional training. This approach focuses on the body’s core muscles to help build true mobility and movement strength in all directions required for daily life, making our clients stronger and more confident outside of our gym.
Our systematic approach to mobility and strength training is quite unique and requires specific equipment not found in most facilities. You will see kettlebells, resistance bands, TRX suspension trainers, mace bells, and Ultimate Sandbags. Using the correct tools and a personalized prescription allows us to provide better outcomes than relying on machines. Machines may build strength, but they cannot develop “real-world strength” that helps people move more efficiently by improving multiple fitness qualities simultaneously.
J4 Performance embraces and uses the Dynamic Variable Resistance Training (DVRT) system and Hardstyle Training methods, which together provide our clients with a new, refreshing, and highly effective approach to accomplishing their goals. Owner and head coach Jimmy Nicholson is a former university strength & conditioning coach with a wealth of knowledge who’s worked with 1,000+ student-athletes and 500+ adults with various backgrounds and goals.
