Running Lake

Near the shore of Running Lake are treed in, well maintained campsites for you to enjoy your stay in nature and be surrounded by peace and quiet. Once your campsite is set up, you will be able to take a dip in calm, clear waters of the lake, cast a line from the dock, or paddle your way around the lake and see what the local wildlife are up to. If you prefer to stay on land, there are many thrilling hiking and biking trails to explore, and firepits and picnic tables at each site to relax at. No matter your activity levels, you will be able to enjoy this great little spot.

Sand Hills Lake Natural Area

Made up of boreal and dry mixed wood forests, Sand Hills has unique sand dunes, forested ridges, and even wetlands nearby. This diverse area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts as it has a wide variety of landscapes, wildlife, and plant life. Not only that, but it offers many kilometres of hiking, horseback, or OHV trails that take you through some of the most interesting landscapes in the area. Prepare to be in awe of this region and make sure you give yourself plenty of time to explore it as much as possible.

Carters Camp

Starting at the top of the banks of the Peace River, you’ll have some of the most stunning panoramic views of the forests, river, and hilly landscapes nearby. As you make your way down into the river valley towards Carters Camp, you will be greeted with the sounds of the flowing river, large trees, and plenty of greenery. Once there, you can explore the trails into the trees, make your way directly to the river, or stop at the playgrounds and play a friendly game of horseshoes. This area is always worth a visit and is one of the most breathtaking places to visit in the region.

Hiking the Manning Ski Hill
