Known as the "Hub of the Peace," Rycroft offers an idyllic stopping point for exploring Northern Alberta's vast landscapes and vibrant communities. Perfectly positioned at the crossroads of Highway 2 and Highway 49, Rycroft is your gateway to five stunning surrounding communities—each with their own unique charm and opportunities for adventure.

Birch Hills County offers a variety of attractions and activities for visitors of all ages and interests. Whether you are looking for a relaxing getaway or an adventurous experience, Birch Hills County has something for you in every season.

Saddle Hills County is a place where you can experience nature, culture, and adventure in every season. Whether you want to camp by the serene Spring Lake or Hilltop Lake, fish for trout in the winter or summer, boat on the mighty Peace River at Cotillion Park, or hike and bike along the trails that surround the lakes and forests, you will find plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy.

This vibrant region spans nearly 712,404 acres in the Peace County and includes the communities of Falher, McLennan, Girouxville, Jean Cote, Guy, and Donnelly.

Located in the Smoky River Region, the Village of Girouville is an absolutely charming community and a must-visit this winter. Expect to feel completely welcomed in this quiet francophone community located west of Falher where you can explore, bowl,

85 km northeast of Peace River, 500km northwest of Edmonton on highway 986. There is no shortage of natural beauty, peace, and tranquillity to be experienced at Woodland Cree First Nation. Visitors can expect to be mesmerized by the dense and lush forest spanning this breathtaking region.

Known as the “Bird Capital of Canada”, McLennan is a nature lover’s dream. With the Kimiwan Lake Campground, Interpretive Centre and Bird Walk nearby, visitors can hit up the walking trails, do some bird watching or cast their lines.

Straddling the north shores of the Peace River, the picturesque Municipal District of Fairview welcomes visitors from the south with gorgeous views of the Peace River Valley while crossing the Dunvegan Bridge.

Picture rolling hills, idyllic lakes, and scenic vistas, all bounded on the southern edge by the Mighty Peace herself, and you’ve got the M.D. of Peace — an ideal place for a northern getaway.

Clear Hills County is home to several small communities, including Bear Canyon, Cleardale, Worsley, and Hines Creek, among others, with miles of untouched wilderness between them — ideal for those who love experiencing unspoiled nature.

Hines Creek is a small community with a huge heart. Named for a respected fur buyer, Jack Hines, by the local First Nations, the village does its namesake proud with its friendly, welcoming, and supportive culture.

The Hamlet of St. Isidore was established after WWII by ten francophone families from Québec, and the area is still home to a thriving francophone culture.
