While some area residents joke that Dixonville may have the world’s smallest museum, it is proof of a group of people with a very big sense of community.  Located in an authentic early 20th century trading post cabin within the Hamlet of Dixonville this museum was one of the first log buildings in the community.  The original one room store was owned and operated by various residents and was eventually restored by the community’s many volunteers. The building became the Dixonville Museum and opened to the public showcasing many artifacts of the community settlement. The original building and restoration of this museum showcases the strength, determination and cooperation of the pioneers of this region.

Little Prairie RV Park is nestled in the pristine Mighty Peace. Located 1 km south of Manning, Alberta on Highway 35. The park offers incredible scenery, quiet and relaxing surroundings and endless outdoor activities for all to enjoy. There are great hiking trails near the campground where you are almost always guaranteed to see wildlife. The park is a great location for group gatherings; equipped with a common fire pit, gazebo, horseshoe pit, badminton court and volley ball court. The park also offers sightseeing tours of the area and jet boat cruises on the Peace River. There are fire-it’s and firewood available at all sites, as well as a large firepit in the common area. Not to mention an active 3000′ airstrip adjoining the park. Leddy Lake is a quiet and peaceful camping area located 24km northwest of Peace River on Highway 743, near Weberville.  Campers can expect very private sites with lots of fire wood available.  Electrical hookups, kitchen shelters and water are available to campers.  Launch your boat and enjoy beautiful sunsets and viewing the many birds and animals living in the area.  While there is no fishing, visitors can enjoy horseshoes, hiking, canoeing and kayaking.  Families visiting here can enjoy a great park for kids as well as a nice sandy area for hours of entertainment.  

In the winter the fun doesn’t stop. Enjoy a sparkling and crisp winter’s day on a sled trail that starts with a scenic loop at Leddy Lake and runs 40km north to the area of Driftwood Lake near Deadwood.  

Nestled alongside the Notikewan River in the town of Manning is the Riverside Campground.  Campers can enjoy a stroll on the neighboring walking path that follows the curves of the river or simply relax and enjoy the bird song amongst the trees.  Families will enjoy the nearby playground as well as the many activities the Notikewan River offers.  This campground offers 9 first come first serve sites with power.  Showers are available and the town of Manning offers a dump station as well as potable water.  Enjoy all this for only $25 a night. 

The Peace River Motocross Track is described as one of the more pro style tracks on the Peace Motocross Association circuit, it keeps riders on their A-game with big jumps and technical features. The track, which opened in August 2015, has been enjoyed by local and regional enthusiasts. For more information, see the Peace River Motocross Club’s Facebook group. The Leddy Lake Playground has a beautiful lakeside location. The captivating selection of play equipment is complimented by the nearby sandy beach. The Hotchkiss Playground can be found right beside the Hotchkiss Hall. This area’s play equipment is recently installed and will provide hours of fun for visitors. Un-serviced camping available. Located in the County of Northern Lights, East of Highway 35. For more information call 780-836-3348.

Condy Meadows playground is part of the Condy Meadows Golf Course and Campground. The entire family can enjoy a weekend here.
