Place Description: Some of the most stunning scenery on the planet can be seen from the top of the Peace River Banks.   An excellent example of this is the Carters Camp area.  As visitors descend down into the river valley, they can enjoy the views of the river below and the hills around them.  Arriving into the Carters Camp area which is located adjacent the river, visitors will most likely stop and admire the view before them!  There are two separate camping areas here.  The boat launch area is just before the main camping area. Both campgrounds are well equipped with camp kitchens, outhouses, fire pits, picnic tables and playgrounds.  Try your luck at a game of horseshoes and when you’re ready to relax, there’s lots of fire wood available for a long enjoyable campfire in the evening! Many of the campsites offer a river view that will take your breath away.   The Carters Camp campground area is where the Montagneuse River empties into the Peace River.  This makes for many interesting areas to hike and explore.  Campers can enjoy playing in the water and also try their hand at fishing!  Keep your eyes open for wildlife along the river and high on the banks.   This area is named for Art and Anna Carter who were pioneers of the area and settled near the mouth of the Montagneuse River in 1917.  A monument to this adventurous couple can be seen along the road into the campsite.   Carters Camp can be found 25km west of Hines Creek on highway 685.  For information call – 780-685-3925 

Place Description: Beautiful river views abound in the Peace Country and Pratt’s Landing is an excellent example seen here.  Located along the Peace River downstream from Carter’s Camp and upstream from Historic Dunvegan, this camping spot offers something for everyone!  Choose from one of 15 overnight camping sites equipped with fire pits and picnic tables.  Enjoy a day of horse shoes, fishing, hiking and exploring the river valley.  Canoes, kayaks and river boats can access the river from the well-maintained boat launch.  At the end of an amazing day, relax around a warming campfire and listen to the mighty Peace River flowing by.  Younger campers will enjoy the playground and the freedom of lots of space to run and play.  Wildlife can often be viewed in this area. There are day use areas as well as non-potable water, outdoor toilet facilities and firewood available for visitors. Pratt’s Landing can be found 32km west of Fairview on highway 682.

• Campground Fees: Includes water and power:  $25 per day / $150 per week
• Power Sites: We have 13 serviced lots with power, water, fire pits, and picnic tables. There is a wood bin close by, and firewood is included. All of the sites are cozily nestled into the trees to maximize privacy for our campers.

Day Use The location adjacent to the campground is the perfect spot for a family reunion, staff function, or a get-together with friends. There is a rental fee of $40.00 to rent the camp kitchen.

Place Description: Mill Brown Park is located in the Village of Nampa. The Village of Nampa is a quaint little town that is home to almost 400 of the friendliest Albertans. The park is walking distance to a restaurant called Farmers Restaurant. This restaurant has a very unique dining experience with delicious Canadian inspired food. The Nampa and District Museum is walking distance as well. At the Museum you can explore the legendary Mighty Peace, from the fur trade to modern times, through the exhibits at the museum. Mill Brown Park has 6 paved stalls, power hookups, water supply, playground, tennis court, ball diamonds, hiking trails to the Heart River and a RV Dump.

Place Description: Community Park and Campground, the bouncy pillow at Cecil Thompson Park has fast become a landmark in the community of Northern Sunrise County.
