Simoneau Honey Buzziness is passionate about the hive. This family “buzziness” provides the region, province and beyond with high-quality natural honey, pollen, and wax products straight from their cherished bee hives. They also facilitate hive-side tours and up close and personal tours where guests put on the bee suit and experience a real working hive. The creamed honey is their signature product that keeps people coming back. This yummy product is a cross between whipped and white honey (available in cinnamon, apple spice, peanut butter and seasonal flavours) but even better. They also have regular honey, wildflower (clover, alfalfa, canola, dandelion), honey stix, fresh pollen, and a large variety of beeswax for candle making and bulk beeswax. This wonderful coffee shop is more than your regular coffee shop, the Old Bisto is a cherished local gem. Here you’ll find coffee lovers enjoying a yummy warm drink, people visiting, working, or having a formal meeting in one of their three different gathering areas. In addition to being a cozy and welcoming place to hang out, the Old Bistro has a ton of unique handcrafted items curated by local artisans. There are some stunning pottery, woodworking, and leather items, as well as paintings and various products from Misty Meadows Natural Soap and Apothecary. They also offer baked goods daily, all served up with a smile. While you’re there, try the caramel macchiato, a local favorite, peppermint, lavender, gingerbread, floral-inspired tea, or lemonade when in season – they are all beyond amazing. The Old Bistro is also home to Fairview Footcare, specializing in diabetic foot care, toenail reconstruction and pedicures.

The Peace River Museum & Archives is located in the beautiful Peace River Valley. The museum cares for many objects, photographs and archival records that celebrate Peace River’s stories and history. The museum is a fun and a entertaining place of learning through objects in the museum’s collection as an entry-point to inquiry, discussion and exploration about the region. The archives offers an extensive archives and library for family and regional history research. Drop by for personal research or call for an appointment for more in-depth research.

The museum showcases temporary galleries throughout the year that enables a deeper look into many of the region’s more interesting and thought-provoking stories, individuals and objects.

The museum has a wonderful gift shop full of hand-crafted gifts to choose from. You will find 12 Foot Davis magnets by a local glassworks artist, art cards by local photographers, fiber arts, jewelry, history books by local authors and much more!

Sir Alexander Mackenzie Gallery

This room tells the story of Sir Alexander Mackenzie and his journeys through the west.  Artifacts include archeological finds from Fort Fork, the 18^th century compound where Sir Alexander Mackenzie wintered while on his way to the Pacific coast.  The display also talks about the fur trade in western Canada, with examples of the types of furs trapped in the area, replica of a fur trader’s canoe and an authentic fur press.

This gallery is home to our temporary exhibits.  These include local history as well as travelling exhibits from other museums.   New and topical displays are planned out each year to fill this space.

Peace River Gallery

The Town of Peace River has a wonderfully diverse past, and we showcase parts of this past in the Peace River Gallery. From prehistoric history and local Indigenous people into the present day, we examine the Town and the people, both past and present, who call it home.

Their maintenance staff have extensive knowledge of Robinson Helicopters, and Valley B Aviation has a Transport Canada Approved Maintenance Organization Certificate since 2001. They can work on aircraft at their facility in Manning, Alberta, or they are happy to hit the road and come to you.

Daniel Labrecque first started his business when he noticed there was a real need in the Canadian survey industry for higher quality sticks. By talking with many different Surveyors and business owners, he discovered that stick breakage was actually causing people quite a lot of grief in both wasted time and money. This problem seemed to come from a combination of poor quality wood and too slim of a cut. In fact, Dan was one of the first to begin cutting 1/2″ lath instead of the more common 3/8″.

This motivated Dan to see if there were other ways the product could be improved to solve other issues surveyors were experiencing. There sure were and he is proud to say by giving this simple product a lot of thought and listening carefully to the people in the industry who are using it every day, we have been able to create the ultimate quality survey lath guaranteed to meet or exceed any expectations!

This cozy full-service campsite and day-use area in the Village of Girouxville is a great place to pitch your tent or pull in the RV for a weekend while exploring this great little village. They have power hook-ups, treated tap water, horseshoe pits, picnic tables, fire pits and outdoor washrooms. The campground is open May to September (depending on the weather) with a camping fee of $20 per night (self-register). Located at 4820-52nd Avenue in Girouxville, and campers can use the dumping station at the Village Office.

Gather your friends and family, and take your pick of activities to be enjoyed at this fantastic outdoor multi-purpose facility. Activities such as pickle ball, basketball, rollerblading, floor, ball hockey and skateboarding are commonly played and enjoyed here by all ages. Located at 5204-52 Avenue in Girouxville.

The Girouxville Playground is a wonderful place to gather and play, with gorgeous green space and lots to explore and do. The littles will have hours of fun on the playground equipment, and for the soccer lovers out there, be sure to bring a ball; they’ve got soccer nets for your next match. Play or rest; they’ve got plenty of picnic tables and benches to sit and enjoy the day plus, they have a gazebo, a great place for a summertime picnic or to catch some shade. Enjoy a fresh outdoor skate at the Girouxville Outdoor Rink this winter. They’ve got a fantastic facility on the west side of Girouxville that is open seven days per week with a heated change room for visitors. So gather up the twirlers and shinny players in life for a fun day on this natural outdoor rink, and why not bring a portable BBQ and end the day with a winter picnic!

The Creek Campground: A Peaceful Retreat in Northern Alberta

If you are looking for a beautiful and relaxing place to camp in Northern Alberta, you definitely will want to check out The Creek Campground. Located about 11 km north of Grimshaw, this private campground offers a variety of sites and amenities for tent and RV campers. With 41 sites available, including many with water and electrical hookups, all  with fire rings and picnic tables you are sure to find the perfect site for your stay. The campground also has a dump station, firewood, group sites, flush restrooms and showers. After you have set up your site, you can enjoy the natural scenery of the wildlife, or have fun with the recreational facilities such as horseshoes, volleyball and a walking trail to keep you moving.

The Creek Campground is a place where you can relax and enjoy nature at its finest. The campground is committed to providing a clean and safe environment for all their guests. From this campground, you can easily access the many attractions of the Peace River region. You can enjoy the beach, the boat launch and the playground at Queen Elizabeth Provincial Park. You can also learn about the history and culture of the area at the Lac Cardinal Pioneer Village Museum, which has historic buildings and artifacts. If you love golfing, you can play at the Mighty Peace Golf Club, which has a scenic 18- hole course with a pro shop and a restaurant. The campground is open seasonally from May to October, and you can make reservations online or by phone. The campground has a friendly and family-oriented atmosphere, and enforces quiet hours between 11 pm and 7 am.
